What is a home healthcare association?

A home healthcare association is an association that represents and often advocates for organizations and/or individuals in the home healthcare industry. Memberships to these associations often include access to benefits like events and resources.

This helps you stay up-to-date on the latest changes in the industry and learn how to adapt, keep operations running smoothly, and continue providing your clients with high-quality care. 

What are the benefits of joining a home healthcare association?

Joining a home healthcare association typically comes with a number of benefits, such as:

  • Access to networking opportunities and peer support
  • Access to resources to improve operations and provide better care, such as newsletters, articles, and industry forecasts  
  • Access to and/or discounts on educational programming like conferences and webinars 

Many of these associations also advocate for homecare agencies and caregivers through legislative action, which is beneficial to the industry as a whole.

National Association for Home Care & Hospice (NAHC)

The National Association for Home Care & Hospice (NAHC) is a nonprofit organization that represents the nation’s 33,000 home care and hospice organizations. NAHC also advocates for the more than two million nurses, therapists, aides, and other caregivers employed by such organizations.

Home Care Association of America

The Home Care Association of America (HCAOA) is the industry’s leading trade organization representing home care agencies and their suppliers across the country. HCAOA strives to provide member agencies with practical resources, advocate for caregivers, and bring together innovators and suppliers. It represents more than 4,000 home care agencies across the U.S. 

Home Care Association of Alabama

The Home Care Association of Alabama is the Alabama state chapter of the Home Care Association of America. It represents the interests and home care policies within the state of Alabama. 

Alaska Hospital & Healthcare Association

The Alaska Hospital & Healthcare Association is a non-profit trade association representing more than 65 hospitals, skilled nursing facilities, home health agencies, and other healthcare partners. AHHA provides policy and advocacy expertise, leads and hosts opportunities for education and training, and brings together members and stakeholders for collaborative work to share data, resources, and best practices.

Arizona In-Home Care Association

The Arizona In-Home Care Association (AZNHA) is a 501(c)6 non-profit organization that was formed to be the primary voice for the home care industry in Arizona. It provides best practices, education, and consumer protection for the industry.

Arizona Association for Home Care

The Arizona Association for Home Care (AAHC) is the statewide nonprofit membership organization for home health care providers and supporters. AAHC provides leadership to the home care industry through education, advocacy, resources and partnerships with organizations.

Home Care Association of Arkansas

The Home Care Association of Arkansas is a professional association of home care providers that represents the interests of home care agencies and the patients they serve.

California Association for Health Services at Home

The California Association for Health Services at Home (CAHSAH) is a nonprofit association representing California’s home care providers. CAHSAH is one of the oldest and largest state home care associations with a long tradition of service dedicated to promoting quality home care and enhancing the effectiveness of the home care industry.

Home Care and Hospice Association of Colorado

The Home Care and Hospice Association of Colorado (HHAC) represents home care, hospice, palliative care and private duty agencies. They provide leadership and information to aid members in addressing the changing home care and hospice environment.

Connecticut Association for Healthcare at Home

The Connecticut Association for Healthcare at Home champions quality, cost-effective home health, hospice, and community based solutions.

Delaware Association of Home and Community Care

The Delaware Association for Home & Community Care is the only association in Delaware for home health / home care agencies. Their mission is to promote communication, collaboration and education in order to facilitate high quality and comprehensive home and community based health services.

Home Care Association of Florida

The Home Care Association of Florida (HCAF) is the premier trade association for the home care industry in Florida. HCAF is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to serving Florida home care providers and their vendors.

Georgia Association for Home Health Agencies, Inc.

The ​​Georgia Association for Home Health Agencies, Inc. represents Medicare certified and licensed agencies that provide in-home health care and supportive services to Georgia residents.

Healthcare Association of Hawaii

The Healthcare Association of Hawaii (HAH) has been the leading voice of healthcare in Hawaii since 1939. The primary focus of HAH is working with healthcare executives and their 20,000 employees on vital industry issues.

Idaho Health Care Association

Illinois HomeCare & Hospice Council

The Illinois HomeCare & Hospice Council advocates for the future of home care and hospice in Illinois. They provide a variety of services to its members, including acting as an advocacy resource.

Indiana Association for Home and Hospice Care, Inc.

The Indiana Association for Home and Hospice Care, Inc. (IAHHC) is the voice of Indiana’s home care providers. Their mission is to advance the cause of home care and hospice through leadership, collaboration, advocacy, and education.

Iowa Alliance in Home Care

The Iowa Alliance in Home Care is a personal membership group of the Iowa Hospital Association. It acts as a resource and support system for home health care agencies committed to ensuring home care professionals can provide their patients with high quality, comprehensive and coordinated home care services.

Iowa Health Care Association

The Iowa Health Care Association’s trade associations represent organizations that provide care to improve the lives of Iowans through nursing facilities, assisted living, residential care, senior living communities and home health agencies. 

Kansas Home Care & Hospice Association

Kentucky Home Care Association

The Kentucky Home Care Association (KHCA) is an association of member home care provider agencies who value the home as a therapeutic environment for the care of patients.

HomeCare Association of Louisiana

The HomeCare Association of Louisiana is a non-profit association dedicated to providing its membership with advocacy, direction, education, and leadership, as well as to promote and support high industry standards for home care providers in Louisiana.

Home Care & Hospice Alliance of Maine

The Home Care & Hospice Alliance of Maine is a membership nonprofit organization comprised of home care, home health care, and hospice providers. 

Maryland-National Capital Homecare Association

The Maryland-National Capital Homecare Association (MNCHA) is the trade association for the homecare sector in Maryland. They represent both nonprofit and for-profit health care providers in Maryland and D.C. including Medicare-certified home health agencies, private duty agencies and registries, and durable medical equipment businesses.

Home Care Alliance of Massachusetts

Michigan HomeCare & Hospice Association

Mississippi Alliance for Home Care

Missouri Alliance for Home Care

Montana Hospital Association

The Montana Hospital Association is a nonprofit organization with more than eighty members that provide the full spectrum of healthcare services.

Nebraska Home Care Association

The Nebraska Home Care Association represents the interests and concerns of home health, home care, private duty, hospice and palliative care providers in the state of Nebraska.

Nevada Home Care Association

The Home Care & Hospice Association of New Jersey is comprised of licensed home health agencies, health care service firms, and hospices. New Mexico Association for Home and Hospice Care

The ​​New Mexico Association for Home and Hospice Care serves its membership through advocacy, networking, education, and communication by promoting success and best practices for home care, hospice, and related home health support services.

Home Care Association of New York State

The Home Care Association of New York State is an advocate for quality, community-based care, representing hundreds of dedicated providers and home care workers and communicating with policymakers in Albany and Washington. 

New York State Association of Health Care Providers, Inc.

The New York State Association of Health Care Providers, Inc. (HCP) is a trade association representing licensed home care services agencies, certified home health agencies, health related organizations and organizations that support the home care industry.

Association for Home & Hospice Care of North Carolina, Inc.

The Association for Home & Hospice Care of North Carolina, Inc. is a nonprofit trade association representing providers of home health (98% in NC), hospice (98% in NC), palliative care, personal care, private duty nursing, companion/sitter services, providers of behavioral health care services that care for and support individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, and Program for All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly (PACE) provider members, in addition to other healthcare affiliates. 

North Dakota Association for Home Care

The North Dakota Association for Home Care is a non-profit association dedicated to providing its membership with leadership, advocacy, and education.

Ohio Council for Home Care and Hospice

The Ohio Council for Home Care and Hospice is a non-profit association that serves as the voice of healthcare at home in Ohio, advocating on behalf of the industry and the individuals and families they serve.

Oklahoma Association for Home Care & Hospice

Oregon Association for Home Care

The mission and vision of the Oregon Association for Home Care is to support and assist its members in the delivery of high quality, accessible home-based health care through advocacy, education and services.

Pennsylvania Homecare Association

The Pennsylvania Homecare Association is a statewide organization of nearly 700 home health, homecare and hospice providers. PHA members provide quality care and serve as advocates for their patients and clients on a variety of healthcare issues. PHA and its members work to improve professional standards and ensure access to quality homecare throughout the Commonwealth.

Rhode Island Partnership for Home Care

The Rhode Island Partnership for Home Care is the trade association representing all licensed home care, home nursing care, and hospice agencies within the state of Rhode Island.

South Carolina Home Care & Hospice Association

The South Carolina Home Care & Hospice Association is a nonprofit trade association representing providers of home health, hospice, palliative care, and personal care services. It currently has a membership of over 250 provider agencies and vendors, who provide products and services to providers.

South Dakota Association of Healthcare Providers
